Struan House is conveniently located in the village centre of Tarbert, Loch Fyne, on the south-eastern side of the harbour, overlooking the fishing quay.

Directions:
As you come down into the village on the A83 (Barmore Road), it swings sharply to the right at the bottom of the hill. At this point, the co-op is on your right and opposite is a left turn into Harbour Street.As you turn into Harbour Street you can see all the shops etc. facing onto the harbour. Follow the road until you see Struan House come up on your right, with its life buoy welcome sign.
Position
Struan House is also in a marvellous position for all the daily ferries to Arran, Gigha, Jura and of course the Whisky Island of Islay with its seven distilleries.A two hour ferry crossing will take you there, among breathtaking scenery with plenty of time on return to clear the mind in pure Scottish sea air!
Hourly ferries across Loch Fyne from Tarbert to Portavadie bring the Cowal Peninsula and the Island of Bute within easy reach too.
For those whose sea legs are not so firm, Tarbert makes an excellent base from which to explore the whole peninsular of Kintyre. Whether by car along the coastal roads on either side, or on foot walking along the Kintyre Way, Kintyre offers something for everyone, beautiful sandy beaches, forest/hill walks, castles, harbours and of course the Mull of Kintyre with its lighthouse and views of Northern Ireland only 12 miles across the Irish Sea.
Events
Tarbert boasts a range of special festivals which take place annually In May, it hosts the Scottish Sailing Series, a competitive event second only in the yachting calendar to Cowes on the Isle of Wight.
The Seafood Festival held in early July, celebrates the famous Loch Fyne harvest followed hot on its heels by the Tarbert Fair.
Recently established in mid July is the Classic Boat Festival - a celebration of our boating heritage on the West Coast of Scotland.
Finally, the wonderful Tarbert Music Festival is held in September.
You may have to book very early for these festivals, as the village is bursting at the seams on these occasions.
